Overview

Family Council Assistants play an important part in helping family councils thrive. Family Council Assistant 101 introduces the role and shows how assistants can support a council while respecting that it is self-led and independent.

The course begins with an overview of family councils: an organized, self-led, democratic group of family and friends of residents whose main purpose is to improve residents’ quality of life. It then explains the Council Assistant role and shares best practices for effective collaboration.
