Ontario Celebrates Opening of Long-Term Care Home in Cambridge
Redeveloped home brings 192 modern long-term care beds to the community
The Ontario government is celebrating Fairview Mennonite Homes’ opening of the Ed and Karen Nowak Long-Term Care Home in Cambridge which will provide a safe and supportive home for 192 residents in the community. This project, supported through the construction funding subsidy top-up, is part of the government’s plan to protect Ontario by creating good jobs and building for the future, while ensuring long-term care residents get the quality of care and quality of life they need and deserve.
“Our government is improving long-term care by building more homes, hiring more staff and making historic investments to support families and protect their loved ones,” said Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Minister of Long-Term Care. “Now that construction has been completed, 192 new residents will have a safe and modern place to call home.”
The redeveloped Fairview Mennonite Home will modernize and expand the existing home, adding 108 new spaces and upgrading 84 existing spaces.
