New Northern Heights Community Long-Term Care Home Opens in North Bay
1:02

On November 7, the Ontario government celebrated the opening of Northern Heights Community, a new long-term care home in North Bay that adds 160 modern beds to the community. Replacing the former Waters Edge Care Community, the new home includes 12 new and 148 upgraded beds. The design offers a home-like environment with dedicated dining and activity spaces, a kitchen, lounges, courtyards, and various amenities.

Government officials, including MPP Vic Fedeli and Parliamentary Assistant John Jordan, highlighted the project as part of Ontario’s broader plan to expand and modernize long-term care, with a goal of creating 58,000 new and upgraded beds across the province.

This new home reflects the government’s commitment under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, to foster stronger connections between residents, families, and staff while modernizing care and investing in long-term care communities.
