The practical side of leading a family council, from leadership models and effective meetings to solution-oriented advocacy and handling conflict.
Once a family council is up and running, the work turns to leading it well. Module 3 focuses on the skills that help councils run smoothly and advocate effectively.
Module 3 provides a guide to leading family councils in long-term care homes. It emphasizes the importance of advocacy, collaboration, and legal rights in improving the quality of life for residents. Building on Modules 1 and 2, it shifts the focus to the practical side of leading a family council.
The Family Councils Foundations Program supports family members and partners in care as they learn about family councils and their important role in long-term care homes. The program is about learning and building understanding. It is not a test, and you do not need to know everything to take part in a family council.
You will be asked for your name and email before you begin, so we can understand who is using our learning resources.
