Hamilton’s Macassa Lodge Home Expansion
0:46

Construction has begun on a new wing at Macassa Lodge, adding 20 new beds and 44 upgraded beds to the long-term care community. The expansion is designed around two “resident home areas” (RHAs), creating more intimate, comfortable living spaces for up to 32 residents each, with dedicated dining, activity, and therapy areas. The home will also offer programs for dementia and behaviour management, as well as spaces for physiotherapy, recreation, worship, and family dining.

The first residents are expected to move into the new wing in late 2026. This project is part of Ontario’s commitment to build and upgrade 58,000 long-term care beds across the province.
