Guest presenter Pamela Durepos will be discussing her research project, 'Caring Ahead: Preparing for End of Life in Dementia', in which she interviewed bereaved family caregivers about their experiences. She will share caregivers' valuable advice for others on ways to prepare for the medical, social, spiritual and practical challenges that can occur at end of life.
About the guest presenter: Pamela Durepos is an intensive care nurse at the Hamilton General Hospital and is completing her PhD at McMaster University. Pamela is passionate about her research project titled 'Caring Ahead', which focuses on improving end of life experiences for people with dementia and their family caregivers. She is supervised by international expert Dr. Sharon Kaasalainen, and also volunteers for the Hamilton Alzheimer Society as an educator for the 'Dementia in the Later Stages' class.
