The Government of Ontario is investing **more than $26 million** to strengthen the long-term care workforce by training nearly **3,000 new frontline staff** and supporting ongoing professional development in long-term care homes across the province.

This funding builds on Ontario’s broader staffing plan and is being delivered through two key initiatives:

- **Supporting Professional Growth Fund: **An additional **$5.5 million** (bringing this program to **$15.5 million** in 2025-26) to upskill staff already working in long-term care.
- **Living Classrooms:** **$21 million** to expand practical, on-site training for Personal Support Worker (PSW) and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) students, letting them learn and gain experience directly in long-term care homes in their communities.
